my road trip

The hills of Tennessee were a work of art all the way to (3 stops) Memphis.

Memphis to Oklahoma was full of crimson clover, 16 wheelers, 3 cups of coffee and I discovered bananas, chocolate and pecans were great together.
I left Oklahoma at 6 am, joining the 16 wheelers and by now I'm forever grateful for cruise control and the company of a book on tap. Driving through Texas was pretty windy which accounts for all the turbo driven windmills everywhere. More windmills in New Mexico and then about 100 miles outside of Albuquerque the road and overpasses changed to the color of adobe and with the subtle shades of sage and the beautiful yellow whatever blooming, oh sweet sweet sweet. No words can describe. (I was lucky to be ahead of the tornado's that hit Oklahoma and I think it was Tennessee.)
Finally in Albuquerque, I can park it for 2 days.
Mary Pat (my sister) and I had a great meal and went to the see The movie Solitary. The next day we had Indian food with some of her in-laws and hung out at a street fair for the day.
Monday morning i left for Sedona and took in some of Oak Creek Canyon. The next day I headed for LA, stopping in Barstow to gas up (i should have only put 1/2 tank in).
Then the wild story of how my sister's and I drove up and down the 405 freeway with the windows down and the air conditioning blasting using up the 1/2 a tank of gas; you see these new cars are siphon proof and to empty the tank the dealer would have to disassemble parts to empty it at a cost of $330.00.
